My Morning Rituals
Life is unpredicatable and you really can only control yourself and how you react to the world around you. So I decided to create rituals that make me feel good every single day. Rituals that fill me up and empower me to be the best version of myself. I have realized that, only YOU are responsible for your life. You must create magic, you must make you happy and you must create the change that will get you everything and anything you want out of this precious, short, yet beautiful life. Life is too short to not live a joyous life, and that is why I do this. I can not stress to you enough how much creating this for myself has transformed my life in the most postive way. Don't read this and feel like if you dont do them every single day perfectly that you have messed up! I've messed up, I've mixed them up, and there's even been a few days I didn't do them. Which typically ended up not being my best days. But that's life, there's no such thing as perfect, there's just you and what you create.
1. Create a Mantra
We're all on our own journeys, so I want you to create a sentence that will motivate you and drive you to greatness. There are no rules it's your life. Every single day once you wake up and are ready to start the day say it outloud and proud. As soon as I embody my mantra, I change it and create new one. This is my current one.
"Good things come to those who go"
2. Fuel my body
I start my day with a glass of lemon water, my vitamins and a healthy breakfast. Hangry is not cute! I make a quick and healthy breakfast and go. I have recipes that I have created if you need any ideas: Recipes
Don't be intimidated or feel like you don't have the time for meditation - you do. You can sit down for 5 minutes. I like to add a little ambience, because I live for an experience. I will light a candle or turn on a diffuser with my favorite essential oils, or if I have the time I will get out of the house and go somewhere peaceful. I sit with my eyes closed and I go to a place that is clear and completely present. Once I am there I let everything go. Towards the end of my meditation I like to set my intention for the day and allow myself a few minutes to feel gracious for the things, people, and experiences in my life.
Meditation is simply living in the present moment. Our lives can get so hectic with so much shit that doesnt even matter and sometimes we dont even realize how much spare time we actually have. Instead of scrolling through your feed for 15 minutes. Sit down, relax, and focus on you. What do you want for your life, how can you make a postive impact, what can you be grateful for and what can you let go of that is not serving you?
4. Fill up with good stuff
Whether it's listening to a podcast or reading a book, I can not stress enough how vital this portion of my day is. I listen to a podcast or my audiobooks on my way to the gym and sometimes I will be so into it that I'll just keep listening for my entire workout. When it comes to my morning time I want to fill up with good empowering words of wisdom and creative ideas to transform my life.
Podcasts you must start listening to:
- The Marie Forleo Podcast
- Mommy Millionaire
- Earn Your Happy Podcast
- Oprah's Super Soul Conversations
- For the Love of Money
- The Goal Digger Podcast
- The Skinny Confidental
Books that I am reading or have read:
5. Move Yo body
I dont care what you do, just get up and move. Do whatever feels good. Go to the gym, try something new like spin, cross fit or pilates. I also love dancing, hiking, kickbxong and yoga.
6. Get Dressed for the Day
I work from home and it can be hard sometimes to seperate your home life and work life. Looking good is not always your top priority. Who's gonna see you anyways, right? Wrong! Just because you can wear PJs or yoga pants every day — doesn’t mean you should. The better you look, the better you feel, the better you perform. Self care is self love, so don't cheat yourself. Show up and be fabulous!
